David Short

David Short is an American contemporary realist oil painter.  His inspiration to create comes in part from his fascination with developing a simple “ballad” on canvas, and common themes include beauty, loneliness, nature, sports, abandonment, and scenes in and around his home town of Richmond, Virginia.
Nationally recognized Fine Artist and Art Historian C. Jos Biviano has said that “David is a well-versed painter working in a variety of genres. His paintings are technically accurate, beautifully designed, and expressive in their feeling. Chief among David’s work are his seductive landscapes.
His thoughtful placement of objects within this important genre harken back to forms rarely seen in the American art world today. He has gained the admiration and respect of both peer and scholar alike”.
“David’s landscapes reveal not only a strong sense of place, but an immediacy which pulls the viewer into the moment”, said Keith Linwood Stover, Curator of the on line Cyber Art Show. He is “an amazing painter and charitable man”.
Educated at the University of Richmond, Mr. Short is a philanthropic artist who has significantly impacted several charities including his daughter’s foundation in Africa, Doors Ministries Uganda, Easter Seals, Starchild and more.
